Analytics and Advertising Cookies

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Ads

We use Google Analytics 4 to analyze website traffic and user behavior, and Google Ads audience and remarketing signals for advertising. These are controlled as two separate choices in our cookie preferences: an "Analytics" toggle for GA4 collection, and an "Advertising" toggle for Google Ads signals specifically. Advertising cannot be turned on without analytics also being on, since Ads signals are built from the same underlying data GA4 collects, but analytics can run on its own with advertising off. Both signals only activate once consent is given - visitors in the EU see them off by default until they accept, and US visitors see them on by default with the option to opt out of either one independently.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to monitor website performance, search visibility, and technical issues. This helps us understand how our website appears in search results.

GA4 cookies typically have a lifespan of 26 months. We do not store any personal data within these cookies; they are used strictly for technical performance measurement.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure site performance and traffic. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not build cross-site profiles. Cloudflare's own compliance position is that this does not require consent under GDPR or the ePrivacy Directive, so it is not gated by the cookie consent banner and runs on every visit regardless of your cookie choices.

Cloudflare Turnstile

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify genuine visitors and block automated spam. Turnstile does not use cookies or fingerprinting techniques, does not track individuals across other websites, and does not require consent. It only runs when the contact form is used.

Cookie Retention Schedule

The following table shows the lifespan of all cookies used on our website. Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare Turnstile are not listed below because neither one sets any cookies at all.
